What is short circuit?
It is when the hot and humid exhaust air is released from the cooling tower into surrounding air, then gets sucked back in immediately.
It usually occurs when both outlet and inlet ports are in a walled or enclosed area. Short circuit will adversely affect the specified performance of the cooling tower.
What is the ideal location for a cooling tower?
Firstly, there should be no walls or barriers in the vicinity of the cooling tower as they may cause short circuit and/or increase noise output. The distance between the intake port and the nearest wall should be greater than the width of the intake port side of the cooling tower. The best outlet port location is in an open area with low temperature and humidity. Areas of high temperature and humidity should be avoided.
Secondly, the pump should be installed in a lower position than the cooling tower. The pump also should be installed in such a way so as to keep the circulating water from returning (by setting a non-return valve, etc.) should operations be stopped. Please check the user's manual for further information.
It doesn't seem to be able to cool below the wet bulb temperature. Why is it?
The circulation water of the cooling tower is cooled by evaporation. If the wet bulb temperature is the same or lower than the circulating water temperature, evaporation, in other words, cooling will not occur
What information do you need to help me select the best cooling tower?
We need to know the circulating water volume (m3/h), the circulating water intake temperature (°C) and the ambient wet bulb temperature. If you don't know the ambient wet bulb temperature, just the ambient temperature and humidity are sufficient.
We would also need the electrical power supplies' voltage and frequency cycle in Hz of the location where you want to install a cooling tower. If there is any request in the types of cooling towers you want, please specify.

Tell me the types and features of cooling towers available.
There are two types of cooling towers; namely, the open type cooling tower where the circulating water comes in direct contact with the air for cooling, and the closed type where the water passes through copper tube to come indirect contact with the air.
Though the open type cooling tower is inexpensive, there are some demerit such as it's easy to collect various impurities from the air, etc.
There are also two variations within the open type towers: the crossflow and counter-flow types where the direction of contact of the circulating water and air differ.
While the crossflow type has easy maintenance, it has rather a major demerit of being large noiser in comparison.
What is a refrigeration ton?
It is numerical value set by the Japan Cooling Tower Institute representing the size of cooling towers. If we assume that circulating water intake port 37℃, outlet port 32℃, air wet bulb temperature 27℃, circulating water volume 13 liter/min, then 1 refrigerated ton =37-32)×13×1×60=3900(Kcal/hr.Rt).
